Privacy Policy —What We Collect, What We Never Touch

Last updated: 2026-10-15

Chat Avenue is built so you can walk into a room without handing over your life story. This page explains exactly what that means for your data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Chat Avenue — the website at chatavenue.cc — handles information when you use the chat rooms, one-on-one stranger chat, and video features. It sits alongside our Terms of Service, and the two documents should be read together. The short version: anonymous chatting is the product, not a marketing line, so we collect the minimum a working chat service needs and nothing more.

1. What We Collect

Because you can enter most rooms without an account, the data we hold on a typical visitor is short and technical:

  • Connection data — IP address, browser type, device class, and approximate region, used to keep the rooms running, route traffic, and block abuse.
  • Usage data — which pages and rooms you open, roughly when, and for how long, so we can see which rooms are alive and which features are ignored.
  • Account data — only if you choose to register: the username and login details you create, plus your coin balance and purchase history if you ever buy a package.
  • Support messages — whatever you write when you contact us, kept so the conversation has a thread.

2. What We Never Touch

Anonymous is the whole point of a stranger chat room, so there are things we deliberately do not collect. We do not ask for your real name, your address, your phone number, or your social media accounts to enter a room. We do not run identity verification on casual chatters, and we do not buy data about you from brokers. If you never register, there is no profile to build a dossier around — you are a nickname in a room, and that is by design.

3. Chat Content and Room Data

Messages in public rooms are visible to everyone in that room while the conversation is live — that is what a chat room is. Private one-on-one chats are transmitted between the two participants and are not used for advertising or profiling. Video streams are relayed so the call can happen; they are not watched by staff as a matter of routine.

Two exceptions exist, and both are about safety, not curiosity. First, when someone files a report, the surrounding context is captured so a human moderator can review it. Second, automated systems may scan for patterns linked to spam, scams, or abuse so the rooms stay usable. Beyond that, chat content is transient: it exists to be read in the moment, not to be archived about you.

4. Cookies, in Three Honest Kinds

Chat Avenue uses three categories of cookies, and only three:

  • Essential cookies keep the site working — load balancing, security checks, remembering that you are logged in. The rooms do not function without these.
  • Preference cookies remember choices you made, such as your nickname or display settings, so the next visit starts where you left off.
  • Analytics cookies give us aggregated, anonymous counts of visits and room activity. They tell us whether a room is busy, never who you are.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Essential features may stop working if you do, but the choice is yours.

5. Third Parties We Actually Use

A handful of service providers touch limited data so the site can operate: hosting and content-delivery infrastructure, payment processors when you buy coins (they handle your card details — we never see the full number), and an analytics tool under the limits described above. Each operates under its own privacy terms, and we share only what the function requires. We do not sell personal information to anyone, full stop.

6. How Long We Keep Things

Retention follows a simple rule: keep it while it has a job. Server logs with connection data rotate out on a short cycle. Support conversations are kept while they may still be needed. Account data lasts as long as the account does; if you ask us to delete it, we remove or anonymise what remains within a reasonable period. The exception is records we must keep for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or an active dispute — those stay only as long as the obligation does.

7. Your Rights Over Your Data

Depending on where you live, privacy law gives you specific rights, and we honour them regardless of geography:

  • Access — ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — have inaccurate details fixed.
  • Export — receive a copy of your data in a usable format.
  • Deletion — ask us to erase your account and associated data, subject to the legal holds above.

Every one of these requests goes through the same door: the Chat Avenue contact page. A person reads it, verifies it is really you, and acts on it.

8. How We Protect It

Data in transit is encrypted, access to systems is limited to the people who need it for their job, and the less we store the less there is to protect — which is the real security feature of an anonymous-first design. No online service can promise absolute security, and we will not pretend otherwise, but minimal collection is the strongest safeguard there is.

9. Updates to This Policy

When this policy changes in a way that matters, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page moves and we make reasonable efforts to make the change visible. Continuing to use Chat Avenue after an update takes effect means accepting the revised policy.

10. Questions About Privacy

Anything on this page, any request about your data, or any concern about how a room handled something — write to us at support[at]chatavenue.cc or use the contact page. Privacy questions are answered by humans, not deflected to a FAQ.
